Gujarat Earthquake -2001

Relief distribution in Patan in immediate aftermath of the earthquake . Participation planning workshops with village communities in Patan , Gujarat to develop action plans for rehabilitation.

Patanka Navjivan Yojna( PNY) -Patanka New Life Plan

SEEDS reconstructed 275 permanent shelters in village Patanka,Gujarat including retrofitting of houses and school buildings. PNY was a joint endeavour of different organizations of diverse nature from India , Japan and Nepal. The initiative established a model of holistic rehabilitation involving local people in decision making and implementation . It also addressed livelihood issues in a post disaster situation at the local level.

Gujarat Earthquake Safety Initiative

Risk research , NGO training , public awareness and school building safety in partnership with GeoHazard International and UNCRD Japan with funding support from Volunteers for India Development and Empowerment ( VIDE), USA.

Parvat Yatra : Hill Safety Campaign

Community awareness on local risk , retrofitting of community centres and training of masons and government engineers in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh

Indian Earthquake Safety Initiative

Strenghten local capacity to prepare for and respond to future diasters by assessing the earthquake risk, response preparedness and most effective mitigation actions for 20 of India's most vulnerable cities in partnership with GeoHazard International ( GHI) and UNCRD
