Afghanistan is a shattered
society. Years of conflict and neglect have taken a devastating
toll on human, social and economic aspects. Secondary and social
impacts of creeping disasters have not only multiplied the direct
casualties but also rendered both government and community with
low coping capacity.
The process of recovery has started, and the members
of the international community must be careful not to allow that
process to reverse itself. This requires from all, a continued commitment
and tenacity to stay in the course. |
