He is a Professor of Disaster Management & Convener of the Training Advisory Committee at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (since 2006). Formerly, he was the Chief of Party, Program for Enhancement of Emergency Response (PEER), a USAID funded program for six Asian Countries.
Dr. Manu Gupta, Vice President.
He is the co-founder and director of SEEDS. His 19 years of experience in the sector covers national and regional advocacy, mobilization of community led efforts in recovery and risk reduction, climate change adaptation and emerging issues including humanitarian partnership, accountability and community resilience. He holds a doctorate degree in community based disaster management. He completed his Masters in Urban Planning and the Bachelor’s degree in Physical Planning. He currently serves as the Chair of the Asian Disaster Risk Reduction and Response Network, an active network of national NGOs from over 17 countries in Asia. He is part of the Steering Committee of the Global Network of CSOs for Disaster Reduction. He is also the Global Advisor for UN-ISDR on the Resilient Cities Campaign. He is a contributor to UN-ISDR’s Global Assessment Report, 2011; and expert reviewer for the IPCC, SREX report.
At the national level, Manu is the co-founder and member of the core group of the Alliance for Adaption & Disaster Risk Reduction in India and serves on various national committees of the Government of India
Dr. Anshu Sharma, Secretary.
He is the co-founder and director of SEEDS and Safer World Communications. An urban planner by training, his main work in India is on post-disaster reconstruction programs and pre-disaster educational activities. He is also a trainer for professionals, and the global tutor of Oxford Brooks University, UK. Dr. Anshu Sharma has experience across twelve countries responding to emergencies, coordinating community based action projects, training practitioners, coordinating inter-agency efforts, conducting research, advocating with governments & international agencies and evaluating programs in the areas of humanitarian response and disaster risk reduction. He has experience of program implementation, advising, consulting and evaluating missions with UNDP, UNDMT, UNCRD, UNAMA, UNISDR, DEC, Christian Aid, Action Aid, Tear fund, European Commission, Oxford Brookes University, Kyoto University, University College London, Government of India and Government of Afghanistan among others. Dr. Anshu Sharma holds a doctorate degree in community based disaster management. He completed his Masters in Urban Planning and the Bachelor’s degree in Physical Planning.

Mr. Rajesh Bheda, member.
He is the Principal and CEO of Rajesh Bheda Consulting (RBC). He is a leading consultant, researcher and educator with over two decades of contribution to the apparel industry. He holds a Doctorate in Management from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, India and has undergone faculty development fellowship at the Manchester Metropolitan University UK. Previously, he was a Professor and Chairperson of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi
Dr. Rajib Shaw, member.
He is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies – Kyoto University, Japan. He has worked closely with local communities, NGOs, governments and international organizations, including the United Nations, especially in Asian countries. He is currently the Chair of the United Nations Asia Regional Task Force for Urban Risk Reduction. He is also the Executive Director of Integrated Research on Disaster Risk, Beijing. His research interests include community-based disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, urban risk management, and disaster & environmental education. He has published several books in the field of disaster and environmental management. He is also the Chief Editor of Asian Journal of Environment and Disaster Management.
Dr. R. Kuberan, member.
He is a Disaster Management expert with many years of experience across Vietnam, India and Afghanistan. He has held the position of International Facilitator, Natural Disaster Mitigation Partnership, UNDP Project, Vietnam. He holds a doctorate in Civil Engineering from IIT, Delhi and completed his M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

She is a post graduate in B.ED Social Studies and English, and holds a PG Diploma in Ecology and Environment. She is a teaching consultant.
